VinySearcher.com is the place to go if you are looking for hard to find vinyl singles of house music.  It's a UK business, but prices are pretty damn good for hard to find vinyl.  Shipping is super fast.  I ordered 5 records and they were here in a week.  Great condition.

Of course this site supposes you knew the name of the song in the first place, and that can be tough with a single you hear in the club.  It used to be fun to walk into Gramaphone Records here in Chicago and 'sing' out a couple of beats and then the guy would know exactly what you were looking for.  Or you could just play it for him off of a tape and it would be even better.

So I got two/three records I know what they sound like, and the others were just good Chicago House trax.

Ok this really isn't House music per se.  But it's such a good track.  I was having a real difficult time figuring out exactly which track to post.  I've got some choice, although not limitless, and not all of them are slices of fried gold.

This IS a slice of fried gold.  This is rap, hip-hop, what not, but it is NOT electro.  (I watched Shaun of The Dead for the umpteenth time last night.  I love that movie)

When I say 'full cast' I mean it has a Tribe Called Quest in their as well as Mony Love, and Queen Latifah.  Jungle Brothers, too!

Grey House is the name of the group, and New Beats The House is the name of the track.  This is from the late 80's/early 90's.  It doesn't have a date ANYWHERE on the jacket or album.

It's a classic for me.  There is one blemish for a couple of beats I'm sure you can hear.  Oh well.  That's the majik of vinyl!

State 808 - Pacific

This is one of my all time favorites also.  State 808.  The first two versions I will give you are off of the single on ZTT records distributed by WEA Records.  The record ain't in perfect shape.  About a 90%.  It has a little blemish or two, all my responsibility so I can't bitch.

But the song is good, and always reminds me of being 15 again.
